The SilkenSpider Clan

The final major Clan of the Nation was founded three years after the first colonies of the Spanish lords came upon Hispaniola. During the Reconquista many Amazon women and men had bled into the population of lower Iberia. Many of them being of both IronCobra and RunningHorse. The foundation of the SilkenSpider would not establish itself till after the wayward colonial communities were united during the Civil War era. With the creation of the US and eventual founding of the Dominion of Canada the Colonial Amazons slowly coalesced as new traditions and a new Amazo dialect appeared. Over time as new Ozikon were founded from the first few settlers, the SilkenSpider wove itself together as a Clan of mixed varied descent.

The SilkenSpider are in the modern age the most phsycially varied of all Clans. They also have the highest amount of adopted Amazons and often encourage marrying outsiders. They also have the lowest amount of the Amazonian immunities to respiratory problems. This meant when the influenza outbreak hit the Amazonian population in America hard. Several families were lost and those left did their best to remain. By the time of the 20th century began the SilkenSpider had been reduced to small enclaves in the Northeast and the Northwest. Steady expansion and immigration in the following years saw a soaring of the Amazon population but only a steady incremental increase for the SilkenSpider.

By the year 2000 the Clan had restablizled and had become known as a gang in several cities because of the Clan's spider web tattoo art.

Case System update for Amazo

When I worked on and fleshed out the verbal system for Amazo I forgot to go back and update the Case notes. So there have been a few updates, and including a few redundancies that are making the system a bit complex. For example when someone is punished such as in the sentence, "I was punished for what I did." The first part I was is in the Dative case because 'I' was given punishment. The second part I did is in the genitive because I am then owning my action that caused the punishment.

Another update is the usage of emphatsis in Amazo. Unlike Ancient Greek, Amazo does not have a separate ending or inflection for emphatic usage. What it does is assume the vocative case towards the part of the sentence that needs to be emphasize. What this means is if you are emphasizing something such as "I did do it" the part about 'did' would be replaced by the Vocative marker before the emphasize unit of the clause.

To say hello in Amazon one says, "Arteɲei Shuɲle" which means Artemis with you.

To say good bye, one says "Fyhen Shush" which means Spirits to you.

Kind of simplistic but these are the two basic greetings / farewells I have right now. Enjoy that and updated case system :)

The IronSerpent Clan

Years ago, a tribe of the Amazon Nation called the Gorgons fled south with the fall of Themiscyra. They were made up of the southern auxiliaries and merchant families from the North African provinces of the Roman Empire. For a time they lived along the lake Tritonus before scattering into the North African Kingdoms and sub-Saharan tribes of the continent.

The IronSerpent originally followed the Saintly woman Medusa, a member of the Honored Dead and said to be cursed by the horrid betrayer Athena. (Athena is consider a traitor compared to her sister Artemis). They are perhaps the most extensive clan culturally in their diversity to purpose. Descended from the southern Armies that once defended the coast of Amazonia, they retained their military heritage but unlike the LongTalons they melded more into the local tribes than other Amazones.

Physically the IronSeprent are dark skin but often have either an Ehtiopian or Berber look to their appearance. Extensive intermarrying with tribes such as the Amazigh (Tuareg) has also resulted in the adoption of face wrappings for their priestesses and a subtle shifting to their clan's mask practice. IronSerpent clan masks are often made out of cloth or movable material to create more of a veil. In this they are unique compared to other Amazonian Clans.
