Negation and Compound words, Amazon Martial Arts

Whoa, while since I posted a blog.

So the Amazon Dictionary which I will be putting up as a PDF in the future has yet to be finished. The current word count is 20 something words and counting. I have a bunch of verbs and I'm using a Classical Greek vocab to create the starting word list.

So negation within Amazo! Negation is done by first deciding what needs to be negated. If the sentence is active, aka the Agent is doing something to the experience the arguments of the verb determine that the Negation marker goes before the Subject and then the Verb. That means that in an Amazo clause the neg marker is Neg+verb-voice, and Neg+noun/subject. Basically Amazo featgures DOUBLE negation if to state the obvious :)

Now something else that I added recently is the usage of Crasis to create new nouns. In English we have a massive list of suffixes that create words out of verbs or other nouns! In Amazo you create the meaning of this by finding the desire noun or verb and then attaching another pronoun or corresponding noun to it. So Scientist would translate when done in Amazo to roughly "He/she/it who does science!"

Also, the vocative marker is now also used to create emphatic units of a clause.

Sin' ages by one year and a bit on Amazo Reflexives

So I turned 22 today awesome!

Anyway, a quick bit on what I am considering for Amazon reflexives. There is already a somewhat reflexive nature to middle voice in that it is used to describe an action was committed against the person by themselves. In a way this is a reflexive which makes me decide that middle voice is how the Amazon's express an action they did themselves. This only applies if the experience of the action is in fact the one stating the usage of the reflexive so "I am myself" may use the middle voice, where as "I cooked dinner myself" uses the ablative case on the one committing the action. This means that the action was done "of" the agent, therefore the agent acknowledging they did the action.

Kind of confusing but it's to prevent the confusing of who is committing what action against whom.

Whoa, introducing Liam Sweeney!

After finally finishing the POV for Eleni and Deren I have moved on finally to introduce the first villain, Liam Sweenney! Also I've posted roughly 3,000 words on arrowchild.wordpress.com. Some people have noted the word errors, and I wanna say that's good! I want to be able to easily edit it when the draft is done, as right now I'm focusing on getting the main part written.

Anyway a few notes about Liam, he is a former IRA soldier, and well he's not a nice guy. To be honest, he'll probably be the most brutal character in the storyline. However, he was a young kid who grew up during the troubles and honestly is part of a fringe group of the group. I want to say that though some characters are obviously cruel, they have a reason for it. This is not a black and white story, even Eleni has her issues (she's a complete brat to everyone right now for one!)

Quick update on Amazo, the singular pronouns are done! Plus I changed the rules on the ejective k' when being used in the middle of words.

A quick bloggling 2

In the Amazon faith there are five core Truths. Note this religion is evolving as I write the basics of it. Note, I am doing this because honestly I want them to have a religion. So, yes, I am being obsessive!

The current elemental Truth is Wind, taught to the Amazon Nation right after their original clan was struck down by the Plague. From this event they learn of the Truest Destiny, a concept that leads to the enlightenment of the Greatest Rapture. Basically the path one takes to realize the Ultimate reality and in correspondence that lead to the creation of the nine major tenants of the religion. The Five Elemental Truths are keyed into the first Five Major Totems, witch each subsequent Totem adding to the Five.

Amazon Religion Part 2

The Amazon Faith will have an official name in the future as will their holy book. However, right now I've decided to do a bit more on their beliefs and key tenants.

So further ado here are the basic tenants of the faith.

  1. Strong mind and strong body
  2. Respect and venerate the Honored Dead
  3. Arteɲei is the Supreme Soul of the Ultimate Reality
  4. Arteɲei is forever merciful and kind, except for the unjust.
  5. The Spirits are extensions of the Universal Mind
  6. The Spirits are everywhere and in everyone
  7. Arrow Children are Divinely Inspired.
  8. Sword Sisters are justice manifested
  9. Shield Mothers are the Martyrs that provide inspiration for all
These are some of the core beliefs of the Amazo Religion. Another belief is in a heavenly experience simply called the Great Rapture. By following the tenants of Arteɲei one can enter a state of Rapture that is not unlike the Buddhist Nirvana.

The New Blog

The new blog which is being used for the serial of Arrow Child can be found at http://arrowchild.wordpress.com/.

I have no idea when I will be updating it, or if I'll have an update schedule @@. But it's probably going to be roughly 500-100 words or so every few days or once a week.

Some changes in the general plan...

It's been a week and I've been thinking about Arrow Child a lot. The one thing is that I'm thinking it's going to be part of a general trilogy called the Second Rise of Amazonia. Kind of lame, but that's the project name for now. So this is still going to be my main blog for all things Amazon. In fact I plan on using Shadow's Sin as my notes and general ideas area. I have a lot of plot to work out, but I now have an idea of what happens in the long run. Including the main villains and who the Arrow Child is.

The one major difference that is going to be happening is that I'm going to start sketching out the story into sections which will later on be organized into chapters. Basically I'll write a section, part blank, and when it ends so does that chapter. Some might be wondering (those who actually might read this) where and when its going to show up. Well, after a bit of thinking I've made a decision. Arrow Child is going to become an active serial. This means that it's going to be posted onto a new blog (solely for it) where people can read it and comment. This will be an active draft free to the public. When the book is finished I'll reorganized it a bit, get it started on the editing and then begin work on the sequel.

Arrow Child will feature full sentences in Amazo, not fully dialogue lines but songs and comments. The point of Amazo is to create a more authentic atmosphere for the Amazonian Diaspora. I've gotten the last and most updated copy of the notes and I'll be picking up on the language very soon!
